My mom and I both get migraines a lot -- my mom has had some like Estrella's that can almost mimic a stroke... that can be scary! (I'm glad you at least found out what yours is, Estrella - but I'm a SO sorry you have to deal with those - I've seen how bad they can be!)

Some of the things I've done for my headache:

Valarian or Aspirin - both of these have a mild blood-thinning effect, and in SOME migraines, the headache is triggered when the blood vessels in the head constrict and blood can't flow as freely. Taking Valarian (herbal) or Aspirin (non-herbal) in a low dose on a daily basis can sometimes help prevent some headaches from starting. Aspirin might be a good option, since low-dose daily use of aspirin has also been associated with helping prevent some heart attacks and/or strokes (or reduce their severity if they do happen). Kind of taking care of a few things at once there. :) (Valarian "low dose" is about 100 mg per day, Aspirin is 81mg)

If I get a headache, I rub a mixture of Lavendar, Eucalyptus and Rosemary oils on the muscles at the back of my neck, up over the scalp and onto my forehead and temples. It doesn't smell as bad as Ben-Gay, and seems to work pretty quickly.

Cold packs on the back of my neck have helped, too

Also, deep meditative breathing can do wonders. You want to inhale (through your mouth) slowly while counting to 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4 and hold (empty) for 4. If you can find some good, relaxing music to use for this, that helps a lot, too. Just keep breathing like that for a while - it'll help you relax.
